A national programme with seven regional centres: Düsseldorf (Coordinating Centre), Leipzig, Munich LMU, Munich TU, Hamburg, Kiel and Itzehoe.

Programme Highlights

  • The programme in Düsseldorf holds regular cinema shows and theatre events with subsequent discussions with patients, relatives and professionals as well as "Open-Door-Days" in psychiatric hospitals. A variety of reports in TV, radio and print media dealing with the German action programme has been achieved.
  • In Leipzig, ODOS Slovakia/Michalovce and Irrsinnig Menschlich recently cooperated on Against the Images in the Head, a film workshop in Michalovce for people with schizophrenia and media professionals from Slovakia and Germany. This media project seeks to mitigate the social conflict between those excluded and those excluding. The film produced in the workshop will be presented to large audiences in Slovakia, Germany and other countries at international festivals and showings.
  • The Local Action Group in Hamburg founded the society "Irre Menschlich." The main focus of this group is to coordinate education within schools through the "psychosis-seminar". In these seminars school children and teachers meet with former patients and relatives to discuss issues surrounding mental illness.
